• What does a good day look like in your role?

  The satisfaction of recovering garments, when we can make them saleable again. Seeing our spares collection being used to keep customers happy. I love being "hands-on" with our product, seeing from the sample stage right through to being on display in store.

• What does a challenging day look like in your role?

  I look after faulty stock globally, and so have to link any new information to everyone, despite time and language differences. We produce a number of photographs for full explanation.

• What do you get up to in a typical day/week?

  Producing reports on returns, liaising with global suppliers, carrying out minor repairs, deciding which garments are saleable or not, working with the customer experience team and customers to send out spare parts, and advising on how products have performed by inspecting returns. I also keep accurate stock files, working with store colleagues, and training them on product knowledge and how to process their returns.

• What’s the best thing about working for AllSaints?

  The variety - no two days or products are the same, we get to work with unique designs, fabrics and processes. The team spirit - you can always reach out to anyone in the business to ask questions. My jobs means that I am a point of contact for our stores and customer experience department, and I get asked about everything regarding our products and how to care for them.

  Being able to "have a go" and try out different ways of keeping our product saleable, and how much product knowledge we gain and can share around the business.

• What’s the most surprising or unexpected thing about working for us?

  The diversity - you meet so many different people from all continents, and see so many new ideas and designs.

• What’s not in the job description but something you’d tell a friend if they were looking to join the brand?

• Tell us about your journey with AllSaints so far.

  I joined AllSaints 11 years ago as a quality controller, inspecting new product as it arrived into the Distribution Centre.

  Eight years ago I was asked to work on a project regarding all the faulty returns within the business, and from here I provided information on the highest returning styles and reason, which lead the business to change some of it's trims, added extra laces into shoes, and changed some of the production techniques.

  I realised that the business was refunding garments due to very minor issues - such as buttons coming off, and so I set up a spares ordering system which links the customer with the customer experience team and stores.

  Working with our suppliers, our pattern room, and a lot of online research and trial and error, we found ways of repairing and cleaning our product, and now return over £1m worth of stock each year.

  I set up a faults department in our North America Distribution Centre, which works in parallel with the the UK Distribution Centre, and I work with all continents.
