THE ROLE

Our menswear buying team focuses on the complete product lifecycle, from range plans and development through to product selection and in store trading, working hand in hand with cross functional teams across the business to deliver the best selection of AllSaints products to all of our more than 200 stores worldwide.

Key responsibilities of the team are to select product driven assortments, ensuring a commercial and balanced approach to price architecture, whilst also managing product costing and ensuring critical path deadlines are achieved. Additional responsibilities include comparative shopping and market analysis, benchmarking the brand against competitors and being aware of market price fluctuation and trends, always being strategic thinkers and forward planners in everything we do. As assistant buyer, you will report directly to a buyer within the buying team, and you will also work cross-functionally with merchandising, design, technical, product development and production teams.

You will have a keen eye for product and a track record of accuracy. You will be responsible for ensuring that all products are selected carefully, based on sales history and current trends whilst mindfully managing the product life-cycle from the sample process through to all AllSaints stores.

 

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

  • Managing individual product categories throughout the complete product lifecycle, with guidance from manager, building seasonal range plans, assisting in buy selections and product pricing, and analysing sell-in and sell-out
  • Analysing weekly sales reports to present in trade meetings and recommend trading actions alongside the merchandising team, and also communicate commercial needs and opportunities to the design team
  • Present new product opportunities to manager, based on sales and trend analysis, with intent to present to design and influence future ranges development
  • Conducting competitive shopping analysis including pricing analysis
  • Preparing relevant information for trade meetings and seasonal buy meetings, with support from buying administrative assistants, to ensure relevant sales history is considered whilst making decisions for future seasons
  • Daily communication with the production team to track deliveries and ensure accuracy of all data entry related to purchase orders
  • Negotiating supplier cost prices, with support from manager, ensuring commercial, quality and financial targets are achieved
  • Managing product data entry in assortment plans, including costs, retails, seasonal themes, and purchase order data
  • Managing and maintaining systems with extremely high levels of accuracy
  • High level of communication with cross functional teams within AllSaints

 WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED FOR THE ROLE?

  • Solid experience working in the buying department for a commercial vertical fashion retailer, with a proven background in managing categories independently and delivering to critical path deadlines
  • Clear understanding of trade reports, with ability to independently analyse sales and make relevant product recommendations to maximise sales opportunities
  • Understanding of complete product life cycle, from system set up to delist/markdown strategy
  • A meticulous approach to organisation and effective time-keeping
  • Strong sense of initiative, with the ability to independently prioritise individual tasks and deadlines
  • Attention to detail is key as this is a fast paced role, so a sharp eye is essential
  • Able to understand and appreciate the design aesthetic of AllSaints
  • An intense passion for commerce/product, with a natural commercial instinct
  • Team player who collaborates and communicates effectively at all levels
  • Strives to achieve and drive the best results possible for the brand
  • Proactive, solution based thinker
  • Proficient in Excel

ABOUT THE LOCATION

Based in our East London Studios in vibrant Shoreditch with perks and benefits offered from local businesses including discounts on food, shopping and health & beauty. Studio Location. Approximately a 10 minute walk from Liverpool Street Station and a 5 minute walk from Shoreditch High Street.
