THE ROLE

We work closely with the planning & buying teams to trade each season to deliver and exceed sales and profit targets. Working within the trading team, you will be a crucial asset of the team providing key administrative support, building strong relationships within the brand while ensuring we are all working together to deliver our vision.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

  • Assist the Senior Merchandiser in reviewing risk and opportunity within the market of responsibility. Taking action to drive sales and minimise risk in all channels within the region. Digital, Digital Concessions, Wholesale, FP Retail, Outlets & 3rd Party
  • Contribute to weekly trading reviews of sales, margin and stock against channel/region KPIs. Prepare analysis and reporting to support trading decisions.
  • Monitor store/DC stocks by line each week and report exceptions
  • Work closely with retail teams to influence and drive trade across retail channels. Weekly reviews of performance to maximise opportunities and minimize risk
  • Work closely with the Wholesale team to manage one pool of stock and maximize sales opportunities
  • Track and report intake and shipments across all channels to ensure meeting partner delivery windows and retail directive launches
  • Assist the Senior Merchandiser in reviewing and updating sales and stock forecasts in the regional WSSI
  • Assist the Senior Merchandiser in preparing historical information, lessons learnt and hindsight across the region and within channels. Make recommendations to the planning team to influence future buys and intake
  • Ownership of line cards for ordering and forecasting continuity across all channels within the region
  • Complete size ratios for continuity styles ensuring the correct ratio is purchased to optimise sales and to be able to make suggestions to merchandiser
  • Create markdown planning documents and collating proposals for review versus financial targets
  • Conduct detailed ad-hoc analysis when required on specific product groups/channels
  • Providing key administrative support to the merchandising function. Support the merchandising team with data manipulation and report generation in a timely manner
  • Manage allocation process and distribution strategies
  • Lead and help with the development of Merchandising Admin Assistants. Communicate priorities and manage workload
  • Relay and articulate trading actions, information and analysis to key stakeholders within the business. Key stakeholders include but not limited to the Planning, Retail, Wholesale Sales, Digital concessions and Ecomm teams
  • Develop current systems and processes that are in place and be instrumental in implementing best practices

WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED?

  • Experience working as an assistant merchandiser or an experienced MAA
  • Confident, proactive and able to think creatively when problem-solving
  • Strong analytical/numerical skills and attention to detail
  • Communicates with others clearly, effectively and with respect
  • Has a real passion for the brand and can objectively evaluate product ranges using sound, commercial rationale
  • Strives to achieve and drive the best results possible for the brand
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills whilst able to prioritise workload accordingly
  • Demonstrates the brand values
  • A can do and positive attitude
  • Excellent team player who is collaborative in their approach
  • Reliable and acts in a timely manner
  • Natural obsession with numbers
  • An excel geek
