THE ROLE 

The Procurement Manager is responsible for leading and managing the organisation's procurement activities. This role involves developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while maintaining quality and compliance.

The Procurement Manager will play a crucial role in optimising the supply chain and driving efficiency across the organization.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING

Strategic procurement skills

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals
  • Identify and analyze market trends to anticipate changes in supply and demand
  • Conduct spend analysis and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
  • Establish and maintain procurement policies and procedures
  • Supplier management skills
  • Proactive management of all technology suppliers from a commercial perspective
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or discrepancies
  • Conduct supplier audits and evaluations as needed
  • Reporting and Analysis skills:
  • Prepare and present procurement reports and metrics
  • Analyse procurement data to identify trends and opportunities
  • Provide recommendations for process improvements and cost savings
  • Ensure compliance with all internal and external auditing requirements


WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED?

Must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Experience in a procuement position managing a team
  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles and practices
  • Proven experience in contract negotiation and supplier management
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems
  • Certification in procurement (e.g., CIPS, ISM) is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement
