THE ROLE

As an experienced HR professional, this role will be a primary business partner to our retail field leadership in both the United States and Canada. The HRBP will also act as a key player on the North America People & Culture team to support in delivering our people strategy, and partner with our managers and leaders across a variety of department initiatives.

What will I be doing?

  • Ensure the Brand integrity of the Company is always reflected
  • Be a partner to the field leadership team by providing strategic and objective guidance regarding operations, recruitment, succession planning, performance management and leadership development
  • Effectively partner and align with the Employee Relations Manager to support and prevent work-related claims (not limited to harassment, wage & hour, and policy violation), make valued recommendations to retail managers, and review documentation and provide guidance as needed.
  • Support leaders in identifying performance strengths and opportunities, and responding to trends from talent planning, performance management, and develop strategies to address capability/succession.
  • Act as a system administrator on employee platforms, which includes auditing systems and ensuring teams are well versed in our Company platforms.
  • Create and lead department reporting on a weekly and monthly basis, including labor turnover and department statistics.
  • Collaborative in approach and build trust-based relationships with executives, managers, and employees to ensure an open-door policy
  • Help identify areas for learning & development, provide recommendations/resources to management
  • Respond to inquiries and requests from employees regarding policies, payroll, handbook, benefits, employment verifications, and any other inquiries
  • Review, implement and ensure to meet legal compliance obligations (both federal and state-specific)
  • Assess/Identify People & Culture strategy/policy/process improvements as needed and work with the Sr. HR Manager to implement
  • Accountable for HRIS and ATS upkeep, which includes auditing systems and ensuring teams are well versed in our Company platforms
  • Partner with Recruiter on corporate and retail offer letters, process background checks and ensure employees are set up once hired.
  • Lead training projects and team initiatives including Ad-hoc tasks/projects as assigned by Head of People and Culture
  • Must act with utmost discretion in delivering/relaying sensitive departmental/employee information

Position Requirements:

  • Must be well versed in federal and state regulations, including but not limited to wage & hour, EEOC, leave of absences, risk management, employee investigations and EDD/Benefit claims.
  • Acts with integrity at all times and is able to keep confidential information.
  • Versatile and flexible; embraces change and is consistently able to develop and adapt
  • Driven to learn and grow, grasp new concepts quickly, prioritizes efficiently and is organized
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written; follows professional presentation when speaking to all levels, from executives to team members
  • Strong follow up, follow through and attention to detail needed and ability to meet deadlines
  • Works with pace and takes initiative on projects and assignments
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize when being given multiple assignments at once
  • Must be a self-starter, energetic, and have a positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently and proactively

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in Human Resources - experience in fashion retail company preferable
  • Proven experience in handling California employment law is required.
  • Experience supporting client groups in multiple U.S. states and Canadian provinces is preferred.
  • Experience using the HRM platform Ceridian and WFP platform Dayforce is preferred
  • Must be proficient with Google platforms (Sheets, Keep, Slides, Docs) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) particularly in Excel with the ability to successfully utilize pivot tables and data functions such as VLOOKUP

The current pay range for this role is $95,000.00 - $105,000.00 USD/Year. 

ABOUT THE LOCATION

Our North America region is made up of 71 retail locations across the U.S. and Canada, with our flagship store in New York City. We are primarily based out of our Los Angeles studios, bringing our brand’s iconic aesthetic to West Hollywood, CA.
