At AllSaints we are in the business of feelings - making our customers feel cool and confident. If, like us, you believe in the power of a great outfit, we'd love to talk to you.
We're a global brand made up of a very diverse mix of talented people in a huge variety of roles. Our products are designed in house and made by a small number of suppliers and artisans around the world to sustainable standards.
We are a brand embarking on a very exciting plan and we are seeking new members of the team who want to contribute to this.
THE ROLE
As Art Director, you will create and direct the visual presentation of our brand’s identity. While anchored in ecommerce, this is a holistic creative leadership role where you will work closely with the Chief Creative Officer to define and execute the brand’s total aesthetic. This includes everything from digital image content and high-level campaigns to the foundational Brand Book (typography, color palettes, and tone of voice).
You will own and develop content by leading photographers and stylists in a high-volume studio, while also influencing 'offline' touchpoints like logo evolution and store design. You will manage daily image editing and asset selection for fashion and non-apparel, providing direct feedback to the on-set and retouching teams. Working alongside the Studio Manager, you will ensure the brand’s look and feel is translated flawlessly through all aspects of production.
WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
Creative Direction & Brand Identity
- Brand Stewardship: Partner closely with the Chief Creative Officer to define and evolve the brand’s visual language, including the Brand Book
- 360-Degree Design: Oversee the aesthetic for all brand touchpoints, extending from website design and digital campaigns to logo evolution and physical store design
- Concept Development: Research, mood board, and present innovative creative concepts, lighting props, and storyboards for future seasonal developments
- Consistency: Take established brand guidelines and translate them into consistently aspirational, high-quality creative output
Ecommerce & Studio Production
- On-Set Leadership: Direct photographers, stylists, and HMU artists in a fast-paced ecommerce studio to ensure the brand's vision is executed accurately on-set
- Image Oversight: Manage daily image editing and asset selection for both fashion and non-apparel categories
- Technical Direction: Provide expert feedback on technical elements, including lighting, model posing, and retouching, to ensure premium quality
- Post-Production Collaboration: Work in tandem with the Studio Manager and retouching team to ensure the 'look and feel' is maintained from capture to final upload
Leadership & Collaboration
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Maintain close, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders (including Liam and Sam) to ensure creative alignment across all departments
- Team Development: Manage and mentor the internal creative team, fostering their skills to elevate the brand and maintain high standards of consistency
- Project & Budget Management: Ensure all creative projects are delivered on time and within the allocated budget, maintaining a calm and focused approach under pressure.
- Stakeholder Influencing: Act as a key point of contact for creative feedback, effectively translating changing briefs into actionable visual strategies
WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED FOR THIS ROLE?
- Creative Leadership: Previous experience as an Art Director for a fashion retailer, with a portfolio that demonstrates a mastery of both ecommerce and 360-degree brand identity
- Brand Stewardship: Proven ability to develop and maintain a Brand Book, including fonts, colors, and tone of voice, ensuring consistency across the website, campaigns, and physical store environments
- Technical Expertise: Excellent knowledge of photography, lighting, and image creation. You must be highly proficient in Capture One, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Production Oversight: The ability to deliver quality imagery across model and still-life sets, managing technical aspects (lighting/retouching) alongside creative elements (hair, makeup, and posing)
- Collaborative Spirit: A natural cross-functional collaborator. You will work closely with key stakeholders (such as Liam and Sam) to ensure creative alignment across the business
- People Management: A positive, motivated leader with experience developing creative talent and fostering a high-performance team culture
- Operational Excellence: Experience delivering complex projects within budget and to demanding deadlines. You should be comfortable storyboarding and translating ideas even when working from vague or shifting briefs
- Communication: Strong stakeholder influencing and communication skills, with a 'results-driven' approach and a calm nature under pressure
- Strategic Vision: The ability to research and mood board creative concepts for future development, ensuring the brand remains aspirational and emotionally resonant
